Garden Eye

Help with the development version’s location, scanning, and sunlight estimates.

Where can I get Garden Eye?

Garden Eye is still in development and is not yet available in an app store. Release links will be added to its app page when available.

Why does it need a location?

The sun’s path depends on latitude and longitude. In the current development version, you can enter coordinates or request your device’s location.

Why does it need camera access?

A sky scan records the surrounding obstructions from the spot you want to evaluate. Camera frames are analyzed on your device. Camera access is used for the scan.

What happens to a saved scan?

The current development version saves scans in local browser storage on your device. Clearing that site’s browser data can remove them. Explicitly exporting a scan creates files that you control.

How accurate are sunlight estimates?

The estimate depends on scan coverage and the interpretation of trees and obstructions. Unscanned regions remain uncertain. Seasonal foliage and changing surroundings can affect the result; use your judgment alongside the estimate.

Why does the first scan need a network connection?

The image-analysis model must be downloaded before it can run. Images are processed locally; downloading a model is separate from uploading a camera image.
